Inspiring Young Dancers Through Instructional Ballet Songs, Imagination, and Play!
The Ballet Barn is dedicated to enriching children’s ballet experiences through engaging, imaginative, and thoughtfully designed music and activities. Our mission is to introduce the foundations of classical ballet in a playful yet structured way, making learning both fun and effective.
By connecting with the beloved Ballet Barn animals, young dancers will associate essential ballet movements with memorable characters, helping them develop posture, balance, and coordination naturally through music. In a nurturing environment, they’ll also build rhythm, grace, and age-appropriate motor skills while fostering a lifelong love for dance.
With beautifully illustrated coloring pages, themed lesson plans, educational resources, and a continuous stream of fresh, high-quality music, The Ballet Barn brings the magic of classical ballet to your studio—empowering teachers, inspiring students, and shaping the next generation of dancers.
From Studio to Song:
The Ballet Barn Story
Gina and Stacey met in 2016 when Stacey’s daughter joined Gina’s dance studio. Drawn to its warm, age-appropriate approach, Stacey watched as her daughter fell in love with dance.
While waiting in the lobby, Stacey admired how Ms. Gina and her teachers brought ballet to life—especially through their thoughtfully curated music. One day, she asked, “Are there any songs you wish you had for class?” As an educator and songwriter, Stacey was always looking to fill musical gaps, and Gina’s response sparked an idea.
That conversation led to a creative partnership: Gina shared her ballet expertise, while Stacey brought her passion for songwriting. Together, they crafted original music, tested by Gina’s young dancers, refining each piece to perfection.
Their first collaboration, The Ballet Barn, introduced lovable animal characters like Bree the Bumblebee bourrée-ing and Henry the Horse teaching chassé, Leah the llama teaching relevé and Sammy the spider leading us in a port de bras. The music and stories quickly captured the hearts of young dancers, making The Ballet Barn a global success.
Today, Gina and Stacey continue to create music, lesson plans, and educational materials to inspire teachers, dancers, and studios everywhere.

Meet Gina: A Passionate Dance Educator & Creator
With a career spanning performance, education, and choreography, Gina brings a wealth of experience to the studio. She trained at the prestigious L’École de Supérieure de Danse de Rosella Hightower in France, earning the esteemed Certificat de Stage award, and has studied and performed across multiple disciplines, including classical ballet, pointe, partnering, jazz, modern, and character dance.
Gina’s teaching career took off at The Washington Ballet, where she served as Assistant to the Director of Education, teaching nearly 400 students weekly in both in-school and after-school programs. She later continued her teaching in Boston, coaching dancers of all levels—from young students to professionals—while also developing successful Adult Beginning Ballet program focused on strength, technique and building confidence. Gina believes ballet is for every BODY! It doesn’t matter your age, size, fitness level, flexibility or coordination–many people believe these things matter, but they really don’t. Ballet is about movement, expression, and feeling good in your body, exactly as it is.
Now, as the founder of DanceFIT, Gina spends over 20 hours per week in the studio, personally teaching more than 150 dancers. Her passion lies in working directly with students, refining technique, and fostering a love for ballet. Her teaching philosophy balances structure and joy, ensuring every child leaves class inspired and eager to return.
Her deep experience in ballet education, combined with her dedication to young dancers, led her to co-create The Ballet Barn—a resource designed to support teachers with engaging lesson plans, music, and creative tools to enhance preschool ballet programs. Gina’s mission is to share her love of dance with educators everywhere, helping them inspire the next generation of dancers.

I used the song Monday for my farm themed preschool class! I’ve been using it for a couple of years because I love how the music changes for each animal and how it uses ballet terms.
